The Hungarian government has developed a national card to attract foreign workers to the country. This is a residence permit that foreigners receive when they are employed by a Hungarian company.

The initial residence permit card is issued for a period of 2 years, with the right of subsequent extension for 3 years
After 3 years of residence in Hungary, the applicant can apply for a permanent residence card
Spouses and minor children are also eligible for a residence permit card
Hungarian citizenship can be obtained after 8 years of residence in Hungary
