On December 18, 2024, an Agreement of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia and the Georgian Development Fund. Under this agreement, the activities will be aimed at attracting foreign direct investment from the People’s Republic of China in the amount of more than USD 1 billion over 5 years.
It is interesting here how the European Union will react to the potential possibility of a visa-free regime for “investment” citizens, whether we should expect restrictions for both Grenada and Vanuatu.
First of all, citizens of countries that do not have a visa-free regime with the Schengen countries (Chinese citizens do not have such a right).
We are waiting for the publication of regulations on this program, which will clarify many issues.
In our opinion, this method of legalization can become quite attractive, especially in comparison with the existing program of investment residence permit in Georgia for 300,000 USD.
| Due to the fact that contradictory information about the applicability of this program appears in different sources, REVERA’s lawyers asked for an official explanation. After receiving a response, we will share the information on our information resources. |
